Cordillera Blanca

The Cordillera Blanca is the worlds highest glacier covered tropical mountain range, and a truly beautiful place. To enjoy it, I took to the hills on an organised four day trek, camping out each night. The trek, the "Santa Cruz", is held to be the second most beautiful in the world after the Annapurna ciruit in Nepal.

So with 6 others (Brits, Austrians and French, plus three donkeys, their driver and cook) we set out. The trek was not too difficult but very rewarding in the views.

To get to the start point we passed the beautifully coloured, Llanganuco lakes.
